Question. Can you take out the fuse panel from the bottom? Or do I need to remove the top of the dash?

Four sets of wires were plugged into the back of the panel. Each of these had a uniquely shaped connector and matching socket. So reconnecting them wrong would not be possible. I tied these wires together to remind myself they belonged together.

I'm thinking of moving my AC heater control down and installing a single DIN stereo with a "flip down LCD screen" where the factory stereo is.

I don't think so. You can get a blank piece for the radio.

You could a manual climate control piece and make a custom blank piece.

i wish i had the time and patience to do this
would be a huge learning experience for me but i'm always to scared to break anything so i leave it be even tho i'd rather save money and DIY

if you check the DIN stereo related DIY's i believe there is a relocation kit you can get at the stealership

Epic. This has just about convinced me to pay a local shop to replace my evaporator. A fantastic job, and a model for all DIY documentation.
