DIY: Standard -> ///M Steering wheel conversion

Just a tip, due to the fact, that ///M lower trim isn't compatible with standard steering wheel, I've decided to modify standard trim. I didn't want to swap whole steering wheel since mine is newly reupholstered with perforated leather.

I've bought just 10 pcs of ///M stickers at ebay for 5 bucks and additional lower trim for 10 bucks (didn't wanted to ruin mine original silver in case that something goes wrong

)

Then filled space between lower spokes with putty (hope it won't crack during hot days, but it shouldn't), then some sanding, filler, sanding... Then I've sprayed it with matte black and put sticker on it

Maybe you should give us a more detailed recipe though.... just airing my thoughts1

Gonna try this out! What kind of putty did you use?

Well, I must say that polyester putty I used propably wasn't best idea - tiny crack has shown up, next to one spoke... I guess that it is because of heat during summer... Maybe some epoxy or somethin' more stable will be better...
