Squeak while reversing.

My car sits on a hill, whenever I put it into reverse and then let my foot off brake I get that loud squeak so I'm guessing I need new brake pads. But when I'm down at the bottom on the street ready to drive and I shift it into drive I also get that same squeak. I can feel the squeak while pressing on the brakes also if that helps to clarify. Any clues as to what it is ??

A squeak when reversing is most likely the parking brake...squeaks and grinding when you brake during normal driving is probably worn brake pads and/or rotars

When the rotors get wet, they rust a bit. Reversing + braking will make a loud grind noise for the first time.

It only chirps when I shift from reverse to drive, not while in the process of reversing if that was what you were saying.
