SMOG Specialist in SF Bay Area?

I know I can probably find the answer to this question if I do enough digging but I'm sort of in a rush so I going to go straight to this method. For that, I apologize.

I haven't been able to legally drive my car for about a year because it doesn't pass SMOG. I've also been out of a job until recently so I haven't had the money to take it to someone who could help me find out what's wrong. Now that I have a job I would like to return my car to her former glory.

Is there anyone located in the greater San Francisco Bay Area who can recommend a good shop I can take my car to? I would prefer someone who works on BMWs for a living and has knowledge of CA SMOG regulations. Also, being that I JUST got this job, I still don't have a lot of money so someone who is fair with pricing would be nice too.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks!

could you give us an idea of what is wrong with the car? Maybe some of us can help figure out the issue you are having.

DMV CA also have some good financial assistance programs to help you pass smog. Yes it is a hand out but after all your taxes going to a shitty organization like them, thats the least they can do. when the cat on my e30 crapped out, I got up to $600 in assistance to purchase a replacement one

Sure, when I took it in to get a SMOG cert, their system reported that my injector banks are running lean. It actually passes emissions but it doesn't pass the mechanical checklist.

It's been running rough for a long time now (especially idling) so I'm assuming that a sensor died somewhere in the engine exhaust or intake system. I can also subtly smell burnt oil whenever I run the car but I know it's not a huge leak because it doesn't "mark its spot". It might be a sensor got destroyed and oil might be leaking from where that sensor is installed? Or maybe something came lose, but I don't hear any out of the ordinary noises coming from the engine (like vacuum leaks or anything).

Hopefully this information might help?

If I remember correctly, it was both banks. I don't know what stft and ltft is. Where can I find that?
