Enjoy the new pad though. I'll be in LA Friday July 27 if you'll have it ready for a housewarming

I don't either.

I love luggage, bags, etc. but I can't stand the packing process.

Nope. It's a long, convoluted story. I just wrote an affidavit on her behalf after her citizen husband died stating that it was my opinion that their marriage was not solely for the purpose of allowing her to become a permanent resident. The court, in its opinion, stated specifically that they had given substantial weight to my affidavit.

I forgot about that. I have too many to fit into one picture, but I'll hit the highlights.

Highlights? Damn and I'm happy with my old Victorionox duffle (when they were only available in real luggage shops.)

The two high points of my luggage pieces are two vintage Zero Halliburton cases that my dad carried as a captain for Eastern Airlines......one is a briefcase, the other is a medium sized suit case. They are worth more to me in a sentimental way than anything, but they are pretty damn cool, I think. I also have an old Ghurka duffel that I rarely use (it's at my moms house) but I will never get rid of. Also at my moms house are a handful of 70+ year old hard side suit cases that are more of decoration pieces, as opposed to functional items. I also have my grandfathers leather hard-sided Samsonite briefcase that he carried all over the world when he worked for McDonnell-Douglas.

As far as stuff that I use regularly......

-Belstaff 554 messenger bag

-North Face large duffel bag (red), probably the most versatile bag that I have.....weather resistant, tear resistant, can hold way more than one would think, and can be worn like a back pack or a duffel.

-My shoe-shine box is an old Zero Halliburton Train Case....it's purple and fairly eccentric looking but it holds everything perfectly.

-An REI 30L backpack that I carry with me almost as often as my briefcase (gym clothes, random crap, etc.).

-A leather weekender bag that was a gift. I'm not sure of the brand, but it seems to be good leather and keeps getting more attractive (it was good looking to begin with) with age.

-I've also got a 75L backpacking pack that I rarrrrely use. Maybe this winter when we go back to Europe.....

There's a handful of other things I'm forgetting, I'm sure.....it's not an exotic collection, but I will say I put wayyyyyyy to much thought into purchasing luggage. I'm currently on the hunt for a new briefcase (I found a chromexcel leather one that makes me ) and a Tumi Hardcase Spinner.

I had something elaborate written up as a rant, but I decided to put it more succinctly: REVENUE CENTERS DO NOT ANSWER TO OPS CENTERS.

The org chart doesn't say it. I basically reached out to the ops team as a courtesy to let them know about an upcoming batch of submissions that's coming in and one of them tries to flex her muscle and say we're not taking on additional work.

My job is to bring as much quality business in the door as humanly possible. I simply tried to be considerate in a golden rule sort of way. Next thing I know she's wielding imaginary authority to tell me how to do my job.

The program is still going to happen. They're just not going to get the heads up in the future.

Yeah, that's an easy one to take over her head.

"Be ready for a bunch of new work because we just landed a couple of huge new deals."

"Nah, I don't think so. Just let that work and revenue go somewhere else. We'll pass."

You would think that she'd be excited, because it might give her an excuse to hire new people to handle all the new work. That would extend her little fiefdom. But some people don't think that way.

Sorry for all the questions, I decided to revamp some of my wardrobe since I realized 3/4 of my shirts don't fit at all.

What do you guys recommend for ties? I bought 2 blue BB shirts, so I'm thinking a yellow tie (or any other recommendation)

Two shirts I got:

I was thinking a tie like this, Canali ties seem to be nice if I catch on to the sale coming up:

I'd wear all of those. It's pretty hard to go wrong with a basic blue shirt. You can wear all kinds of ties with it.

right thanks, but at the same time I want something unique and interesting but not garish or clashing. Conservative with a splash of funky
