Look at that case of beer by Kalim's car. Not even subtle/halal. Heretic!

Carlos was telling me that farting in Drew's face gave Drew pinkeye.

That was an entertaining event. Much better than the last time.

We had one named Carlos, and he didn't fart, so they're fine by me.

Notes of Racecar Engineering June 2012

-BMW M3, Mercedes-Benz C-Class, and Audi S5 DTM cars are essentially the same car, and share nothing with the street cars, not even engine blocks. Cars were co-developed with the three german car manufacturers. Mercedes-Benz was tasked with roll cage and monocoque, Audi with driveshaft, propshaft, and gearbox, and BMW with steering, fuel, and electronics. Everything had to be agreed upon by all three teams, hence 2 years development. Heavy emphasis on reducing costs.

-New Indi cars struggle with new chassis and to hit the 225mph goal. Heavy emphasis on reducing costs.

-Deltawing engine, 1.6l I4 turbo based off the nissan juke, aiming for 300hp and 95kg including turbo, exhaust, intake, etc... It has a 17.20lbs crankshaft, in comparision, an S54 crankshaft is 51.99lbs. All crankshaft journals are hollowed, and bolted on tungsten counterweights are used in place of cast steel. Oil pan has integrated crank bearing caps and is milled from a single piece of 7075 aluminum, using only 10 bearing bolts and 10 small perimeter bolts to hold and seal everything; only 8.81lbs. Block is only 33.07lbs.

-Varley red tops and the rest of lead acid technology are out, lithium batteries and ultra-capacitors are in. This form of energy storage is both for running the car and various KERS systems. Limiting factor mainly being price. Development is at a fast rate so will be interesting to see what comes next.

-Interesting Mercedes DRS (Drag Reduction System) was formally protested by Lotus. The protest was dismissed. Essentially what Mercedes was doing was running some carbon fiber tubes from their rear wing that would be exposed when the DRS system was activated. The tubes would bring air up to the front of the car and stall the flow over the front wing, reducing drag at the front too. It was decided that it was a development or improvement of the system, and broke no rules nor was expensive. It just requires designing a car around the tubes, which is why other teams were not happy about it.

-Calendar is full for F1. F1 close to going back to Argentina, race in New Jersey on hold over scheduling, decision goes to ricard circuit instead of spa.

-Audi is to buy Ducati motorcyles.

-Ferdinand Alexander Porsche passes away. 1935-2012

His attempt at keeping it a sleeper has failed miserably.
