Thanks for all the feedback guys. I'm asking more to get a sense of what's fair to ask for if selling, and if donating, if the tax benefits are comparable to selling it.
@breiwa1 - sounds like what I would do, except I can't find any 200k+ for sale around here :S
@redbull 325is - thanks for the reference
@zander271 - replied to your PM

KBB has a site that lets you find the value that factors mileage and your location.

http://www.kbb.com/whats-my-car-worth/

But honestly just price it a little lower than all the rest for sale in your area and it will sell.

Any chance at turning it into a street legal trackday / autocross machine? You don't have to throw lots of $$$ at it, just sell the bits you don't need to get some coils and tires and be on your way!

It looks like an auto from the pictures I was sent. Which is not the end of the world. But for a track car it would require a transmission swap.

Oh yea check PM's again! Thanks!

Fixed. And I COMPLETELY agree.

And to OP: 200k miles is nothing, keep that shiz.

So in the end I think donating a bmw isnt really gonna help whoever gets it.
+1 it would be running on the cheap gas no doubt

Drive to the worst neighborhood in town, get out, leave the door open, and the keys in the ignition, and walk away. File a police report for a stolen car, and collect the insurance. We never talked about this....

I will give you $200 more than what the donation value would be. Seriously. PM me.

Tell me about it.
A welfare housing area in Toronto throws a street party and 20 people get shot (perhaps not enough barbeque for everyone), leaving 2 dead.
These people really have nothing to lose. You throw a free BMW into the mix and then you gonna have a war.

You can try writing a 10 page essay in proper English on why you should receive the car and maybe OP will consider it.
