Before you say VANOS, please read below The car: - 2001 320i (170hp) saloon with manual transmission. The problem: - rev the engine (while in neutral) up to a point, keep it there, after 2sec the rev drops about 200rmp and it stays there (does not stutter). This causes problems in 1st gear and mostly in reverse. Because the engine is slightly revved when the rev drop happens, this occasionally leads to engine stall.
