I just actually spoke to them the manifold should be 1.5-2 weeks and they want to test it first so I may not have time before I pick up my car to test this out but they assured me if it didn't fit then I could return it no problem! Seems fair to me hopefully they can get one to me within 2 weeks or so as in 3 weeks I plan to pick my car up and drive to Maryland from Chicago to bimmerfest east. 2012!

I dont think fitment will be a problem , downpipe , wastegate and , intake pipe has to be modded but can be done, Ian also said that we can buy their downpipe ,wastegate and intake solution.

Nice looking manifold and jigs. Should support big power.

As I mentioned before, the 1.5" sch 10 runners are the exact dimensions of the Steedspeed manifold internally(they are actually ~1.6" inside diameter ports). I do believe you will make more power with this full tubular manifold. Fitting a 6-1 tubular manifold with the 1.5" schedule 10 pipe is a pain due to the bigger bend radius. We use 1.25" sch 10 pipe on most of the e36 manifolds. My car does have 1.5" sch 10 primaries now.

I can't say enough about FSR!! They did some modifications to my old Supra and I am so glad to see them get into the BMW scene! Their customer service and expertise in the forced induction world is top notch. Ian and team do not settle for anything but the best! Nice work FSR!

I hope FSR will do some Beta testing..ie before and after Dyno runs.
A FLOW BENCH comparison with the Steed and HPF manis would be nice.

All these shops talking about bottlenecks and I have not seen a single flow bench or back pressure result of any manifold. That strikes me as odd since its not a huge deal for the right shop to hook a mani up on a flow bench.

Sure, the dyno is VERY definitive, but flow bench results are far easier and less expensive to obtain. We should be seeing both groups of data.

I got an interesting reply to my email inquiry to FSR. I am posting it here. I looked up CFD. It means Computational Fluid Dynamics. There's a 10 cent phrase for you.
When they say "no correlation", I would like to think they mean "not necessarily a direct correlation". Otherwise, why bother with flow bench at all?

Hi Dave!

We are hard at working on solutions for your S54. We'll get back to you as soon as we can.

The manifold will get adjustments via CFD and we have the facility to flow bench it. However, we've been building and tuning motors for ten years and on a turbo car flowbench results do not correlate with horsepower/dyno/track results in most cases. We use 1.5" primaries in cars that make 1500whp so we're confident in what we're doing.

Our concern isn't anyone else's manifold, but that ours is as good as it can possibly be.

You better believe we do a lot of testing, that's why they aren't for sale yet!

Check out our FSR WEBSTORE!!!! , Check out our new EBAY Store!
