clearcoat polished wheels?

Im considering refinishing the lips of my wheels via the sandpaper/ polish method. My lipsare clearcoated now and have the classic spider web thing going on. Anyways im wondering if i should clearcoat them when done. If so what kind? Poly. Or enamal? O'we and i live on the coast so the car sees its share or salt.

I have always just waxed my wheels to help protect the finish. I am interested to find this out as well..

I polished mine and then had them powder coated

Alternative - Polish and apply a coating Optimum Opti-Seal

Ive always wondered about sealers. If tou dont claybar the paint wont it really seal in any crap in the paint too? You really think it will work n the wheels huh? Thats an easy solution!

I tried something different last night just to see how it would do and it turned on much better than I thought. I had the spare buffer pad that came in the Megiuars headlight restore kit. I used that with some Mothers Billet polish on my wheels for my M3 and was very surprised. put a coat of wax on after and the result was amazing.
