e46 crash test results?

does anyone know of the crash test results for the e46 cars? i've searched pretty hard and cannot find any results other than some videos and people saying "bmw's are super safe yo. i heard so in the internetz"
the iihs does not display bmw 3 series before 2006.

Ratings are good, but each crash is unique and speed exacerbates the seriousness of the crash.

Google EuroNcap, IIHS, and NHTSA. I have a PDF on my computer which details the NHTSA crash test right down to the individual who sent the car (E46) into the wall. Most of the stuff isn't that hard to find. This information has been out for more than a decade.

Also very early on (I think around 2000) BMW added reinforcements to the front structure floor pan.

All 2000 and later 3 Series models manufactured after November 1999 include structural changes to improve occupant protection in frontal crashes

Kind of related, but all E46s have the front curtain airbag, yeah? There's no pillar label like on modern cars, so not sure. Is it only for the driver, or both front occupants?

All E46s have 6 front airbags (rear airbags were optional extras, at least for sedans). So there are 2 front curtain airbags and A pillars have labels also:

LOL, anyone else notice how the always sh!tty mirrors of the e46 even broke in the test, and they didn't even get hit by anything. I hate my mirrors SO much lol.

The mirrors in the above videos didn't break. they flew forward. Going from 40mph to 0 in an instant will do that. It's not unheard of for dummies to record 4Gs of deceleration. Imagine what the car experiences. You didn't know your mirrors went forward? try pushing on them in the forward direction.

Further, stuff breaking off in a crash isn't indicative of quality. lots of parts break in crash (specifically crash tests) there's going to be lots of parts broken off inside and outside the car, even without direct impact. Means absolutely nothing.

hmm, no I actually didn't know that... Probably because my mirrors are so effed up that I never touch them in fear that they will break off lol.

The reason I say bad quality is because my mirrors constantly vibrate... I thought this was a common fault on the non-m e46 chassis? My pass side mirror glass also falls off every once in a while.

Maybe I'm wrong, but in my experience, both my old 325i mirrors and my current 330ci mirrors are vibration kings.

that'd odd. it's my personal opinion that the non-M e46 mirrors are some of the finest and most robust/precise mirrors i've ever experienced. mine are absolutely rock solid. maybe get some new ones? they cracked or something? or just loose? remove and inspect. maybe some clips are broken.

yeah they easily push forward. if you have a coupe, i believe they push forward and twist upwards.

for all you know, maybe you have aftermarket mirrors? look on the bottom for any BMW markings

My mirrors definitely don't vibrate. No complaints from me either.

That sucks for my car which was built in October 1999. Do you have details on what structural changes were made?

Do you know where to get that insert that says "Airbag?" I don't like the small "HPS" thing. I'd rather people know I have a head airbag and not lean on the window or something. Most people don't know what "HPS" means.

My driver's does. It's because one of the plastic clip/holder things broke or is loose after I changed it out. They're fairly fragile.

anyone know if what he's thinking is the same as the mirrors that auto fold for you?
would be a lot easier to find them if they in fact are coupe mirrors.. always wanted these on my Sedan but OEM not ebay junk.
