DIY: How to change transmission mounts

impressive video for a 15 year old. didn't know you can get your license at that age

can we have an update on the mounts? do you like them? i want to do the rougue and bw mm

Great DIY video! I went with the UUC mounts. You sound like Ralph Macchio in the Karate Kid, represent NJ!

I've got a somewhat big thump when going from 1st to 2nd (particularly if the accelerator is pushed down), and vibration going from any gear to 2nd from high-ish speed even if I keep the clutch pushed in. Right before it enters second the mid/rear (transmission area) vibrates. Is it my mounts?

Get under your car, if you see cracks in the mount it may be that, check them out it won't take long.

You can't.
I learned how to drive stick in a parking lot.
You wont feel any difference though unless they were bad in the first place. I'd also like to do motor mounts, I want group N but, for $900 no way. When I do them I'll either go with m3 or BWMMs.

I've heard some bad things about UUC glad to hear that yours are good!

Awesome. I need to do FCABs this weekend so I'll take a gander. I hope that's all it is and nothing more serious. Like a subframe crack D: But I hear that is much, much less of an issue on 2003+ cars.

This thump you speak of is usually the differential bushing gone bad

I just finish my rsm upgrade rogue which eliminiated a upper rear creck sound when vehicle turns or go over bumps ...

Why u used rogue transmission mount?

Said to last longer?

Ill be doing this when i start. Engine mount/diff mount/ & sum exclusive rear wheel bushings + new rear control arm

Mines not going so easy. I have an 06 330ci zhp and I have exhaust in the way plus heat shields. I got the cross member off but can't see a way to get the bushing out. There is just not enough clearance to get a socket up on top to get to the nuts.

Maybe if I lower the tranny a little? Would that be OK?

I lowered the tranny are far as it would drop but still no dice. I'd have to remove the exhaust and heat shields so forget it for now. If anybody else has done this job on a 330ci automatic please chime in with a tip. I'd really appreciated it.
