Square Bag --> Triangle Bag

Hey All:

So I've got the car pulled apart, and *egad* I believe I am trying to put a single stage bag into a dual stage car. (Production 4/2000)

Am I just SOL, so can I do this without throwing the SMS light? Car is already apart, so help within the next hour or so would be great.

And I realize I'm new, but I did in fact search, there are a ton of threads single stage --> dual stage but no one going backwards.

Thanks for the help!

I know this isn't what you want to hear... but why go to a single stage? If you want a sport wheel, you should change to a round bag. There is a reason that single stage bags were phased out - the single stage bags are not nearly as versatile in a crash as the dual stage bags.

My two cents - good luck,

Luke

Right I hear ya. I bought it because I got a reskinned "Sport" triangle based wheel for $180, whereas the rounded sport wheels are almost twice that. I was being cheap. haha looks like I'm going to put the car back together, curse for a while. Have a beer, and then hit the autobahn. . . . well maybe not in that exact order.

It's very possible that you can get the single stage to fire with the dual stage circuitry - however, I would be concerned with it firing to early/late. I think if you really want to make it work, you may want to source a single stage SRS computer as well.
