+Modified Exhaust Ideas+

I looked under many search criteria's but I could not seem to find a thread where everyone was posting their exhaust set ups with a sound clip all in one thread.

I thought for sure I had seen one before but I asked around and no one else that saw me asking could find it either. Just link it here if you can find it. If not then here's the thread to post your modified exhaust in.

PURPOSE OF THREAD:
- To show people how certain exhaust set ups sound.

WHAT TO POST:
- What year and model car you have.
- EX: 1999 323i
- EX: 2001 M3
- What was modified on your exhaust set up. (Please post what is still stock and what has been modified)
- Headers
- Front Muffler
- Resonator
- Rear Muffler
- Size of Exhaust Piping
- If you don't mind please post the price for the certain parts you changed.

There is always a controversy on certain names of certain parts on the E46 stock exhaust but let's just use the names that real OEM uses please.

BMW E46 Non M:

Bulge on left is the Front Muffler. Labeled as #1.
Bulge to the right of the Front Muffler is the Resonator.


Bulge labeled #1 is the Rear Muffler


BMW E46 M3:

BMW E46 323:

1999 323i with stock muffler removed.



1999 323i with stock muffler and stock resonator removed.



2000 323i with stock muffler removed. Y pipe to quad exhaust tips.



2000 323i with stock muffler and stock resonator removed.



2000 323i with stock muffler and stock resonator removed. Y pipe to quad exhaust tips.



2000 323i with Magnaflow 14816 muffler and stock resonator removed.

lol we can just go on youtube. this idea has been done before on here you just have to search... also there are 2 resonators the first and the second and thats what we call it on this forum. muffler in the rear and the cats upfront

Can you find those other threads? Because i'm sure there was one also but I can't find it. Yes you can go on youtube if you want but i'm sure this will help out lot's of people once we get more videos posted up

1st resonater and 2nd resonater and rear muffler your going to sound stupid on here saying muffler ..

"hey so i need a ar20 muffler where can i get one?"

how do you think a 323i with straight pipes and a super 10 flowmaster muffler would sound? I want to get rid of the airy noise my exhaust makes when i'm not pushing on the accelerator

Anything but a flowmaster? Try an Ikon with the first resonator in place, 2nd resonator delete with an x-pipe in its place.

Maybe try the Euro-Spec muffler with the second res delete? How about a DMS if you want it loud?

Our cars sound awful with straight pipes and a flowmaster is only gunna make it worse.

What about only 2nd resonator deleted and leave the stock muffler? Will that make a difference in sound? Right now its too quiet...

I like the idea of this thread. Nice work Wootry I know there are several exhaust set ups out there, been pondering what to go with. This forum can use some more organization with offical threads that gather all the info that gets asked about constantly.
