Iceman, you are right about it physically mounting on a n E46 325, and that's not been the issue, per the first post of AA's response: I called Active Autowerke this morning, and the guy in Technical Support said that though all the parts would fit, the C-38 blower is too much blower for a 325...would require too large of a pulley to get boost down. The E46 325 uses a C-30 blower. The rest of the components are the same. Bottom line: will not work on a 325.
They say a larger pulley required to get the boost into their target range will not fit. The 325 is just like the 328 externally as you point out, but with shorter stroke it has less volume. Could a C-38 be fitted and used on a 2.5? Certainly, but AA would not stand behind it with their warranty, and their DME program does not support it.
