BMW Shim Kit and Tools for Loan

Below is nearly everything you need to perform a valve adjustment on the S54B32 motor, and it's available on loan for 7 days.



The kit consists of:
-BMW's Shim Kit
-Micrometer
-Multiple Feeler Gauges
-BMW's Shim Removal/Install Tool
-Guide Sheet

I will need a $500 deposit via Paypal before I ship the tools out to you. Once you receive the kit you will have 7 days to complete the valve adjustment and return the kit to me. If you return the full kit to me on time I will refund you $450 and your total cost for the valve adjustment will be only $50 plus return shipping and the cost of replacement shims. If however, you want the kit for 2 weeks, your total cost will only be $60 plus shipping and shims. Expect this job to take you anywhere from 3-5 hours to complete.

You will be responsible for replacing the shims missing from my kit when you are done. If you opt to not replenish the kit with new shims before shipping it back, I will subtract $5 from your deposit for each new shim I need to order to fill the kit. I just ordered new shims from BMW after I did my valve adjustment and they ran about $4.80 each. Below for your convenience is a list of all the available shim sizes with their respective part numbers...

Your local BMW dealer is normally the cheapest/fastest way to get replacement shims. Some online dealers are cheaper, but after factoring in shipping and handling the dealer is almost always cheapest.

1. 32mm fan wrench
2. 1/4" Ratchet
3. 3/8" Ratchet
4. 19mm socket, 18mm socket, 13mm socket, 10mm deep socket, 8mm socket, T27 torx socket, spark plug socket
5. Pick
6. Expansion clip screw driver
7. Small prybar
8. Paper towels
9. Assortment of lights and magnets (very helpful)

Anyone else need a valve adjustment? I should be ready to turn the full kit back around in a day or two, once the new shims arrive.

where did you order the new shims from? pelican took 3-4 weeks and they still messed up the order.
