So, its the wee hours of the morning and I am driving home on the interstate, slightly over the posted and suddenly I see a low flying seagull.

I hit a good sized bird with my old Lincoln LS on the Blue Ridge Parkway... made a bloody, feathery mess all over the A pillar and windshield. A couple of years later, I found a bird stuck ass first in the grille of my Mazdaspeed 3 after a fairly high speed run through the countryside.
I'm curious to see what my ZHP decides to eat one of these days... |

Those damn birds. There is one stretch of highway near me that always has those huge cockatoo's flying around.. they always love to sweep down and play with the traffic, almost like they want to see how close they can get to the cars.. there is always a dead one on the road without failure.

Hit a blue jay with my kidney grill a few months ago on the highway.
![]() Heard the plastic break, didn't know what happened until I got home. Explained the weird looks I was getting at traffic lights.

Hit a pigeon with my mirror on the interstate one day. The Pigeon swerved to avoid the windshield but got banged on the passenger side mirror.
All it did was fold my passenger side mirror to the folded position. Well, I could have done nothing about it except for hoping the pigeon was able to fly out immediately after the impact and not run over by other cars behind me.

Only incident with a bird I can recall is driving through a swarm on a back road and one was dead and lodged into the grill of my Lexus RX when I got to the parking lot. My girlfriend at the time was mortified.

When I was learning how to drive, I hit a small bird, maybe a sparrow, with the windshield, at eye level, right in front of my face while driving a Camry. A week later, on the same stretch of road, I hit another one with the same spot on the windshield. Both times scared the crap out of me because both birds flew right to left, perpendicular to the road, and I didn't see either of them until they hit the windshield.

I taught my dogs to catch them. They lure the birds inside and then eat them. Stupid Arab birds. (No really, they're illegal immigrants)
