Upgrade Cloth Interior Upholstery to Leather
Helly Guys,
My e46 came with the fabric type interior. I would like to upgrade this by getting leather interior put in. I've seen the following leather material on eBay. What do you guys think? Also, how much square feet do you think it'll take to cover all seats(including headrests, etc.) with leather? http://www.ebay.com/itm/360479438206...ht_2540wt_1186 http://www.ebay.com/itm/O7-Leather-H...#ht_1238wt_952 |

Buy the leather interior of a e46 and swap them to your car.
Seats and everything

That is not a viable option right now. What I am looking at will be much cheaper and be less hassle. I just want to know how much leather material is needed and if the ebay links above are suitbale. Thanx for the advice though. It was appreciated. |

If I were you doing this I'd go to an upholstery place and let them know what you're getting and assuming they are going to be doing this they should know how much you need. If you're going to be working on them then I would still ask an upholstery shop. I would just replace the seats which I did.

Pic please!
Didn't think BMW had any cloth interior cars, just leather and leatherette. I'm for doing a swap of seats from another bimmer.

OP, everyone here thinks you have alcantara interior which is better than leather IMO. If it is, I'm sure any of these guys would drive a ways to swap with you lol. What model e46 is it?

^Lol, are you guys serious? You DO know that BMW's come pretty regularly with cloth interiors in other countries right? Hell, when I was in Germany you couldn't walk 10 feet without tripping over an E36 or E46 and most of the ones I saw were MT with cloth upholstery.

A lot of time, money and headaches! Just have a good upholstery shop do it!

If you really want a warm snug feeling interior, do what I did. Take all the plastic trim pieces and cover them with leatherette too. The upholstery shop here had the stuff that exactly matched the black leatherette in my B. or even a cool contrasting color.

How on earth can it be cheaper to get a shop to redo an entire leather interior than to swap one out? I don't know about your country, but over here.
- Swap interior $500 - Upholstery shop $3000 Either your upholsterers are ridiculously cheap and leather interiors are rare as hens teeth, or something's up here.

I'm from one of the islands in the Caribbean. That is the main reason a swap is not an option. I'd have to import it and pay all sorts of taxes and duties. I just need the questions answered.
