hours to paint trim?

Hey guys how long do you think it would take an average body shop to paint the door and bumper trim?

You're way too vague to give an answer.

They could have to sand down the old paint

It could be a new and only need prep

You didn't mention color matching, painting a door directly without blending often looks off in color at angles

It's better to take it to 3-4 different body shops and get an average quote than ask the internet.

It's already done it was black trim being matched for sahara beige and the job was bad they quoted me for 10 hours which I think is high especially considering the poor quality they did not sand them down, I don't think they even removed it to paint them. I picked this shop because my wife used to work for the dealership for the shop so I figured I could trust them, they are willing to fix what I am unhappy with. Before I talk to them I just want an idea of how long it should have taken to paint to negotiate a price.

yeah 10 hours seems to be allot if sanding wasnt involved. but if they applied a good amount of layers and blended the paint properly then it should be ok. its better to have the job done right then have it done quick. i guess your mistake was not checking other shops before getting the work done. hopefully they will fix it without issues. did you take pictures of the work the shop did on your car?

scrapes and gouges so they either didn't sand or did a bad job and black spots they just didn't do at all.
