Could just be the alternator on its way out. You can check system voltage through the easter egg function on the OBC. I forget what spec is, but you should be able to search what voltage the alternator is supposed to put out at idle and at x RPM. If you do need a replacement alternator, alternatorpros has a pretty good reputation, good prices, and quick shipping.

I think I got quoted close to $700 for a new alternator at the dealership, parts alone Reman unit from alternatorpros was something on the order of $150

Thanks man, also for the easter egg info. Drove car again today and no issues. Car behaved normally when this was occurring, just no audio from radio.

You could also touch a multimeter to the positive lead on the back of the alternator while it's running. A good alternator should put out ~14V. I believe anything as low as 13.5V is within range too. Check the voltage of the battery cold too.

Warranty like that sounds good to me, but as soon as we figure out our house situation, I will be figuring out the car situation so may not need something with a warranty like that.
