I had a non Turbo and always wanted a Viggen 4 door. I still would buy one.
With snow tires that plowed through the snow. I never had a problem with it.

Pretty easy to work on. They have a lot of front subframe bushings that get squeaky and motor mounts that need replacing now and again, but they are pretty easy to replace. Turbo is a fun little car to drive.

if you had to choose between:
99 9-3 Convertible (not sure if HOT or just T) 1979 E24 need lots of work or 1980 R107 Merceedes (450 SL roadster) all in the same price range for a driver/project which would you pick.

The R107. More of a classic than anything listed.

Didn't they go out of business a while ago? I think I heard something about that on top gear. If they did, wouldn't it be hard to get replacement parts?

Saab is out of business. I heard it on top gear also. However, there is a company ( I'm not sure of its name) that will be manufacturing Saab parts for the next 3-4 years so I suppose once that is over and inventory runs out it will be difficult to find the parts. Nothing to worry about right away, but def something to keep in mind.

Why do you say that?
I would imagine OEM parts may be hard to source, but aftermarket shouldn't be a problem.

Friend had a viggen. Was ok stock. Tons of torque steer. Became undrivable when modified mildly. Parts are scarce and expensive. Worse in every way compared to an e36, e46, e90.
