I've owned a couple of them: 88 900 turbo and a 97 900 Turbo. Cars handled well and ran fine as long as you took care of issues as they arise. The biggest downfall I noticed was the turbos gave up the ghost in both cars not long after I bought them. I have a love/hate relationship with them. Love the way they look and drive; but hate to own one. :-)

The more you tinker with them, the more they break. That's even what my friends Saab mechanic said He has a 9-6 Aero chipped(raised psi) lowered, exhaust, and a few other things, and it moves. It's a really nice car but seems a bit problematic, especially its electronics.

You'll probably be alright with a 99 9-3. Its when they started using GM engines that it all really went down hill.

But I must agree with everyone else. Forget the saab and buy a e30 or a volvo. You can get a nice e30 convertable for a few grand.

Saab cabrio? Nice car for a hairdresser or a woman in her 40s.

Price tag of repair on the S60R is far higher then the E46 or SAAB 93!
