No. He says BMW ditched the N54 which means they changed motors which obviously is the N55. Either case he's saying the N54 is a POS. Also I've never heard of a case of someone being low on oil on an E9X and destroying their engine as a result of a faulty sensor.

interesting... i love my n54... when you get into it many of the people on the e82,e9x,f30 boards prefer the n54 to the n55 for the twin turbos. what is the issue with it? No complaints here at least. basically the only pitfall is carbon buildup from direct injection, but this is not n54 specific. it got motor of the year like 5 times..? as for personal review i have really had no problems and enjoy it quite a bit. it is definitely DIY friendly, as long as you have software. but that has been true since like.. e36s

Not sure why you're quoting me along w/ that other guy. I said nothing bad about the N54. I know it's a great powerplant back from 2006-2007 when the first juicebox was being tested on my buddy's car.

Sale BMW in Kinston, NC. It's part of their BMW Value Service that most dealerships have. It's available for all E46's so I figured I should take advantage of it.

For sure, like anything else this complicated can have it's quirks I'm sure but overall happy too.

The N54 is super unreliable: high pressure fuel pump, injectors, wastegates, high oil temps etc.

Congratz, the M sport F30 is just beautiful. Gotta love that M sport bumper over stock. The sport line interior is just sexy too. Hope you got a stick

If you have 3 series It does'nt matter if you have M sports your car will be the same, if you like M sports just get a m3 more on re-sale value.
