BMW window guides

Hey guys, So Ive finally decided to get my window guides replaced on the front windows of my 323i. They have pretty much destroyed them self and are starting to make my car look like garbage. so I decided why not replace them. I am not sure if this is something to do myself, have an indie shop or have the dealership install them. I want these done perfectly like the factory and have read this is quite a difficult repair?

any ways ill attach some pictures so you can see whats going on and what exactly im talking about also if any one knows where I can order the seals other then bmw that'd be great too!

one more thing, if anyone knows where a DIY is regarding replacing window guides please let me know!

The dealer is going to rape you on the prices for this. I would find a good body shop, one that has someone that they are confident can do it well. It is a speciality skill, and not every shop is good at it. In fact, some of them source the work to one specialist who does the work for several shops. So, ask around. If they tell you that any of their guys is qualified to do it, then move on. Just stress that you want their "go to" guy for doing this work.
As for the parts themselves, I would get some part numbers from RealOEM.com, and start searching around. You would be suprised at what places may carry them.mi have never looked for these particular items. If you have trouble finding them, PM me, and I will check some of the places I use for odd stuff. But you are right, it may be a problem finding them. And, they are probably expensive. Sorry.

Your totally right, sometimes I have to help the window up they go so slow...should I do window regulator at the same time? the motor is probably still okay just the window regulators are garbage in these cars!

But, yes you should get new regulators (URO or OEM ~ $65-90 ea.) < Make sure you silicon grease the cables, pulleys, and guide carriers BEFORE you install.

NOTE:
Disconnect the battery BEFORE you dismantle the front door panels, ie: side impact sensor & airbags.

Im pretty sure this is a list of the parts/numbers I need in order to complete the repair:

window guide left 51338266123 -$94
window guide right 51338266124 -$94
outer left weather 51338194707 -$24
outer right weather 51338194708 -$24

would anyone be so Kind to double check these are all I need? also could someone send me a reliable site to purchase the regulators from!
