Hey guys, I'm looking to get some coding done. I live in the Raleigh NC State area.

Got a new windshield, looking to reset my adaptation values for my rain sensor. Can anyone help with this?

How much did you pay for your new windshield bud? Also is it OEM?

$0 from insurance, and it is OEM made by Pilkington after telling them about the non-fitting and cheap aftermarket windshield that was put in. The moulding was all messed up and awful looking, and the wind noise was extremely profound. Driving on the highway, I thought it was windy out...but looking at the trees, I saw there was no wind whatsoever.

The problem is, there are a few itty bitty tiny bubbles on the rain sensor on my new windshield, and I do not know if they're really affecting it. I'd rather just reset the adaptation values and have it adapt to the new windshield so I know it's okay. I don't want to have them come and give me a new windshield (for the 2nd time now because they gave me the wrong one the first time), so as long as my rain sensor is good and working, I'll be happy.

Haha I did the exact same thing Use Glass Doctor, not Safelite. Glass Doctor guarantees OEM and they're basically the same cost. Maybe $15-20 more, but you also get a 12-month crack guarantee. They'll either go with Pilkington or PPG, but you can request Pilkington if you want.

Trust me, Safelite's glass is absolute garbage. The wind noise was so bad. I went for a drive today and it was so silent. Like night and day difference. When looking for a car, if you see "SGC" windshield glass, stay away, because you've lost considerable sound insulation.

Do you have the ability to code by chance?

Yeah lol my elbow hit the arm while i had no wiper on it and it slammed against the windshield and just cracked.

Ill take your word for it and give them a call. The windshield is getting worse and worse.

I can't. Wish i could, all i have is a scanner and reset tool if you ever need it hmu.

Yeah man good luck, they should be able to work with you. They're real nice over there.

Also...if anyone has any basic tools such as two jacks, a jack stand and breaker bar, I have to do FCABs and my steering guibo. Currently away at school so I have no tools to fix this stuff Help would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to NC. You'll like Wilmington, it should feel a little like Jersey...with a little more twang and a whole lot more friendly.

Can anyone suggest a reputable/reasonably-price shop in the Triangle area to have a mtech II front bumper painted? Preferably not one of the collision-repair facilities that are clearly in cahoots with insurance companies to screw claimants as I'll be paying out-of-pocket.

Fosters Auto Body is the only person that touches my stuff. Not only because I know Mr. Foster, but they do amazing work.

I hate the traffic and the cost of living is insane down there, but it's a nice place. I prefer it to places like Jacksonville and Greenville for sure.
