Having two 80's Rolls' in the garage makes "new to me" just as good as "new" once you are force-learned the techniques of refinishing by maintenance monsters.
![]() But then, at the height of your euphoria inspired by your newfound abilities, the obsession manifests itself, and you start tearing out your interior because when running literally three wires for your meth kit under the door sills you found some scratched plastic and embarked on a plastics refinishing conquest, "because I was in there anyway." Yes, that is the center console chilling on the engine covers. And that's the story of how I met your, er, what I did to my E46 today. ![]() I mean... I would love some M68's. If they're not special enough to you, I'm sure I know of someone who would like them.... ![]() PO curbed my style 45's. Bought some "lab metal" and used it to fill in the scrapes. It's lasted through three tire mountings.

Wow. You are crazier than I am. I am slowly learning to live with the flaws and imperfections my car has. It's a struggle every step of the way. My hat goes off to you for not giving up!

Just figured out a way to possibly deliver 140lb of boost to my engine.. provided a turbo can make that and an engine could handle it.. And yes, I'm fvcking serious and I didn't stutter!! No turbo lag either!
Can't believe I hadn't realized this before!!! So simple!! Last edited by RKiepper; 09-12-2012 at 02:37 AM. |

no not quite. Originally the clear coat on the wood was starting to get hazy and have small cracks, so I sanded it down and painted it blue. The interior looked great with color matched Orient blue interior trim. The knob started to show signs of age/cracks again so I sanded it down and cleared the wood.
all of that = refinished not polished. (but I see what you were getting at) before: ![]() after:

Couldnt get nay pics, but it is crushed, cracked, splitting. It did not do any damage to the plastice that hold sit on. I know the VCSL front bumper is differnet from other CSL front bumpers, bu tthe fitment cant be far off if I went with an EBAY 2 piece. I just need somehting to replace it and im not paying $500-$700 for a real vorsteiner 1 or 2 piece.

Both my coolant level and washer fluid level lights came on today. Guess the sensors only last 130,000 miles?

I don't think they are low end coilovers. They are TUV rated.

Just because they are <$1k doesn't make them "generic". I've had them, I've also had a lot better and worse. To be honest, for the money, I preferred my race lands over the D2's. To each his own.

Oil/filter change, spark plugs, cabin air filter, air filter, washer fluid. And adjusted the washer fluid sprayer nozzles, which I had no clue that any car in the world had that feature. Makes me love my e46 that much more. Crazy Germans!
