This is so stupid. Using obesity as the reason to ban sodas, when it's just a money maker for the businesses. Fountain soda costs pennies, and now that they will be 16oz or less, they will cost even less per cup to make. Clever ruse New York, clever.

Why not ban smoking? Smoking has more of a negative health impact on the population than soda.

Because tobacco companies make so much money, they can afford to insure that won't happen.

"Customers who really want more sugar-filled soda can simply order extra servings, they said."

Absolutely ridiculous the thing that get approved "for our own good".

I believe they did the right thing, and are testing the waters to place this in every town around the country. If New Yorkers revolt, the illuminati will be stopped, but bending over and taking it will result in the downfall and Muslimification of the country.

so people who really want that soda can just buy 2 instead? People need to drink less soda but this ban won't do much to stop it imo

I'm in favor of the bill but we all know people will just buy double to get the same amount.

Fatties ruining america one piece of legislation at a time... sorry america, you're so fat and stupid you can't decide on your own what to consume.

Welcome to the nanny state.

Why don't they just allow health insurance providers to charge more for obese people? Kinda like car insurance charging accident prone drivers more.
