Do you see the size of the valve? Think they're going to take precious time feeding that under the car (if it'll even clear the undercarriage) just because some moron parked in front of the hydrant?

He's parked so close that it would have cause a pretty good angle in the hose too restricting flow.

Guy got what he deserved.

If I illegally parked and there was a fire I would hope they cut time and smashed through my car if necessary.

It's one way for firemen to spread the word quickly and make a point. In addition to putting out the fire quickly, maybe preventing someone from dying.
