Beisan systems are owned by the guys who identified the cause of the problem, and found a way to fix it first. So I went with them.

I looked at the eBay versions for a while, and got beat out on eBay again for Beisan products that owners never installed before selling their car.

Actual Beisan products showing up on eBay doesn't happen very often.

I'd go with the Beisan route, $65 for some seals sounds like a lot, but you'll spend that much in gaskets if you have to do it again due to using a potentally inferior product from eBay.

Would the loss in hp and torque that they mention really be that noticeable? Seems unlikely

The guy i bought it off of just had the BMW inspection II done. I googled it and cant believe everything that it covers. Hopefully im good to go for a while.

In some instances the difference is very noticeable, in others not so much. It depends on the degredation of your current seals. Also, these seals are not something that BMW officially acknowledges. So that is not covered under Inspection II.

Hmm, might be something I need to check out then, ive got 117,000 miles

I believe there's going to be more of a placebo effect then actual gains. But there should be an increase in engine performance and smoothness nonetheless.

BMW may acknowledge the problem one day, so keep your receipt handy when they do.

If a dealer were going to do vanos work under warranty, I'd get the seals and rattle kit(ZHP ONLY?) and try to get them to install them for me, or get access to the part before hand so you could do it.

Today was fluid day! Oil, MTF, Diff fluid. Probably should start a retroactive rebuild thread, just too much stuff to list right now.

A nice wash and vacuum.

Made the ramps from the home depot 2x10s.
Finally dont have to use the stupid widow maker jack to get the floor jack under the car.

Pretty sure my power steering went out..and something is squealing in the engine somewhere.

looked at it in disgust and thought about how it should have been an m3.

Hit an owl.. I have feathers, bird ****, and blood all over my hood. Yay...

just finished doing my rocker cover gasket(valve cover gasket)---easy enough job was a nightmare trying to get the cover off though used a paint scraper and gently prised up...
I done it as oil was leaking into plugs and a little at back of engine..

I agree, Its not worth 7$ to have to do the job twice plus the cost of the real deal.

I Have 162k on mine and finally am doing mine for this winter, The Vanos problem is noticeable in cold on my car. Going to be so happy when thats finally fixed.
