Engineers check in here!

Out of curiosity, what did yall find was the hardest sequence for your degree's?

I'm a BSEE major and I have heard a lot of people say if you can survive the math sequence you should be fine. Others have said signals/processing was the hardest.

I'm a baby junior and Math was the first sequence I completed followed by Sciences.

What do you guys think?

CS/CE guys need not comment as I don't really understand programming at all so its all blindingly hard to me.

I'm a CE major and signals/processing I found to be particularly challenging. Especially when delving into the realm of electromagnetism and Gaussian theory. Overall I have no regrets. Not sure what you're talking about when you say "sequence" though, are you referring to courses?

Curious, is there anybody developing any sort of nutrient recapturing system? considering we flush away most of the important fertilizers used to grow crops, seems like it's something we'd have to consider as things like phosphorus are literally being pissed away.

I found chemistry to be the hardest part of the general classes, and mechanical vibrations to be the hardest part of engineering.

I agree. There are even people without engineering degrees who call themselves engineers, even if they are still in school. Can you believe those clowns? Get the papers first, then make the claim.

Don't see an educational requirement

Companies mandate an education level but if you are published, have experience, and are known in your industry they kind of overlook that. I don't call myself an engineer, my company does.

eecs from berkeley, i didn't like it. did well in the physics/math and lower div classes... by the time i got to the real engineering classes i was in too deep already, so i took the bare minimum to graduate and diluted my gpa with an econ ba.

funny, back then i spent most of my free time on aol and surfing the web, and that ultimately became the line of work i settled into (blogging etc)

Was your heat transfer stuff way harder than learning Calc, Physics etc or did you find it more applied math?

Everyone cried about Emag and I didn't find it that bad.

Lol, don't be offended. I'm actually CE but feels like a janitor at times. So many bugs to clean up, so little time.
