xenon headlight shrouds removal

Does anyone have a DIY of a OEM xenon projector shround removal, mine are aging and starting to flake I would like to remove JUST the shrouds, however not sure if they can be removed or is the reflector lenses all one molded piece?

Are the shrouds specific fit, Do you know if you need left and right shrouds? I Never replaced this before. These eBay shrouds don't say and I don't want to go through the time and effort only to find out I need side specific. I remember someone saying he had two rights at one time and this guy needed a left. It was a long time ago.

I don't think so, I can't really recall. Another Idea will be to Repaint them, Just make sure you choose a High temp spray paint..

And in regards to your PM, the shrouds are held on by clips, but you have to remove the projector from the headlight housing

Oh **** I'll never go through all that hassel, I thought all I would have to do is pull them off, and snap on the new ones. If I pull them off and break the clips on the back I would think "so what" I'm not going to reuse them. Then push on the new ones. Will this work?

Yup, you can break them off carefully and just push in the new shrouds.

I just recieved my shrouds, the clips are at 9/3, can you remember what the location is on the BMW xenon projectors? If they don't line up I'm going to pass on changing out the shrouds.

I watched the video several times and after pausing and getting a closer look it appears that the clips are at 9/3 after all Thanks.
