I've got an '01 325xi here in Washington, DC. I'm currently getting about 11 mpg in the city, which stikes me as low. All four tires are at about 35psi. I dumped a fuel line cleaner in the tank, but that didn't seem to do anything. I get around 30 mpg on the highway. I welcome any and all suggestions for improving this.

Prob needs some pre-cat o2 sensors, but 11 mpg is kind of extreme unless you were idling for a long time.

I get around 16 (tops) in my daily driving to class at college. It makes sense for me, because its due to the type of driving: very short drives with many stop signs and red lights = shitty MPG. Keep in mind, when you actually use gas to accelerate from a stop you are getting VERY low gas mileage

I drive mostly city with a quick 2 exit trip on an interstate and avg 20mpg cant get anymore. I probably would benefit from plugs and o2 sensors but no codes so for now it stays as is.

Hey Kubica, the Bosch Pre-Cat O2 Sensors you mentioned from Amazon, are they the Bosch 13477s?

Thanks for confirming that Kubica. Ordered them as I'm getting the following O2 Sensor codes; E3, E4 CA and CB.
Another question for you, which do you feel is the best thermostat/housing; BMW at $111.95, Behr at $67.95, Wahler at $55.00 or Motorad at $54.68? |

I'm running a wahler with no issues.
I recommend replacing the thermostat every 60k miles. |

I used the link above to check out the O2 sensors. Don't know if this matters but here is a note from the Ad in Amazon for the O2 sensor.
"Note: Bosch partners with other manufacturers to supply the parts your car was originally built with. This product is in a Bosch package, however the part may have been manufactured by an independent Bosch supplier. " So does this make it a Bosch part or not?

I had my oil filter housing gasket and ccv replaced a few months ago and my obc mpg went from 17.5 to 21. I drive mostly in the suburbs.
