Rear perch goes on the top for the E46 models.

For guys who want to go over their install I suggest using the V1 instructions. A little better than the ST instructions

Kris, if I'm Going towards more of a slammed look, what brand of coils should I be searching for?

I am the type that is function/performance over looks though. If you really want something slammed maybe look into getting an S10 or Toyota Pickup. Those things have no performance LOL

I understand that slamming a car is not practical. But I like the look of it, and I'm sure most of you do to. It might take away some of the performance, but I own a 325. Not a 330. Not an m3. So performance isn't really what I am going after for this car. Im going for low and slow with this one. I asked a simple question about what coils would give me the look I'm going for. I'm not trying to get into debate whether slamming cars looks good or not. I just want to know which will give me the best results.

That said, if you don't care about the warranty from ST, you could just remove the helpers. The back already goes pretty low on mine. Not sure what wheels you run, but slammed you'd probably be tucking a lot - if not all - of the tire in the fender. |

Might end up going that route of taking off the helpers, don't really want to but it looks like that's the only choice I got unless I wanna buy another set of coils.
Curious about the ride comfort with the helpers removed. |

It would be exactly the same, aside from the lowered ride height. The only point of the helper spring is to keep the main coil compressed against the strut, so it doesn't shift and move around.

I can tell you that its so inconvenient to adjust the ride height in the rear! I have to pull the whole springs in order to adjust. I cant access the rear perches due to it being on top and blocked by the inner wheel well!

It will be like with most coilovers.

If I put the adjuster on the bottom, will it make it easier to adjust for future reference?

You will also lose some height as well by putting the perch on bottom.

Thanks I did that. It took a few hours of testing them and finally got the car looking even on all corners. Looks so much better. I had to raise the rear a little bit. As for the fronts, I'm close to max drop and my tires are tucking a little. I really hope the strut is sitting all the way in. I even went about opening the hub more and the nipple only sits a quarter way in from the top.

Good luck bro. As for me I'm going to go back down there and make sure the strut is all the way in. I'm positive that this can't be my issue because when doing the install I made sure to rule this problem out.
