A Moscow Mule in a Copper Cup
This is the drink that supposedly brought vodka into the mainstream in the US. 5oz Ginger Beer 3oz Vodka squeeze or two of lime juice Serve over ice in a copper cup/mug.....for some reason this is important to the drink, lol. It's delicious and an awesome after dinner drink due to ginger being a stomach settling root. Ok, I'm sure you could have it in a collins glass or rocks glass, but the copper mug is part of the shtick.

Caipirinha - the national cocktail of Brazil
In an old fashioned glass -2 to 3 (depending on size) key limes cut into thin slices -Add 2 to 3 heaping tablespoons of sugar to the top of the lime slices, Raw sugar is great to use -Muddle (mash) sugar and limes together well -Add 2 to 3 shots (ounces) cachaça -Stir well to thoroughly dissolve the sugar, add cracked ice, stir, enjoy

+1 On Moscow Mules. I make them more 50/50 though when I'm at home.
Side note: anyone been to/have a prohibition style bar in their area? There are two in Denver and they are a fun place to take friends that have never been due to the novelty and theme. Basically it's totally disguised as a bookstore and you have to wait to get in through the secret bookcase door. Another nice part is, the waiters are trained to memorize your names, all night long. A very distinguished drink menu as well.

Hah, saw that on reddit Thursday. I want to try it really bad. Do you think the type of whiskey matters? (crown private?)

Just saw the Moscow Mule, that looks really good. It reminds me a little of a Dark 'n Stormy
![]() It absolutely matters. Bourbon and canadian whiskey are completely different flavors. They're both fairly sweet but candian whiskey is a lot sweeter.

I understand that, I guess I didn't word it correctly. I drink makers all the time, but I'm currently out of it. Does it specifically have to be makers or can I substitute? Does it need the spice from the bourbon or will the sweetness of the Canadian compliment the drink?
