congrats on the evo, brady. i was hoping you were going to jump into the N54 world. I-6 TT is so much win, especially when you spend ~$900. best of luck with your mitsu

Maybe one of these days. It just wasnt in the budget. Paid cash for the EVO and got it for a steal.

Just a little FYI for those of you with cams or that are going to be installing cams. I sold mine and advertised that the vanos gears were installed correctly. When I was pulling them out, I noticed that I couldn't quite get them to line up properly. I didn't think much of it at the time. Installed my OEM cams and that was that.
I decided that since I had the alignment tool in-hand, I'd go ahead and check. Exhaust cam = right on the money. Intake cam.... off a few degrees. You can see what I'm talking about here: http://www.lowmotion.org/viewtopic.p...rt=450#p869118 These happen to be the my cams, so I know they've been red-loctited. Crazy. Might have been over 240whp if that would have been lined up correctly

Says who? In all honesty unless you and passenger are both under 5'8" or less, it will be quite uncomfortable. Both kids are now forward facing but I will be able to regain even more leg space upfront once they can sit in a regular booster back there.BTW you're BBK is really tempting. If it ever dropped any further, I would have to make my kids shiite their pants and dip into their diaper fund.

That picture is exactly the reason I'm going with the EVO
When #2 comes along, I don't want to have to deal with that.

Then go 4 door E46 like me
Just think of the baby seat track days ![]() Brady, if you still need the torque spec for the helix bolt, it's about 60ft/lbs according to PEI330. (No children were in that car or harmed during the taking of this photo, its just me and my wife... well actually she was a few months pregnant at the time)

Haha, ok. I'm not selling the car, though. Probably my daily driver for another 3 years
Not sure what I'm planning for it after that.

Based on what I know now of VANOS movement, I don't know if the splines being in the 100% correct position would make any more power. If your peak power was made with the VANOS against the stop, then yes...maybe....but I don't think that is the case for any of us. The cam position sensors still allow the DME to place the cams where they should be with VANOS. The area I noticed the biggest change with the cam timing being wrong was at idle and part throttle..... |

Might contribute to more area under the curve though...

If only. I'd be out driving it instead of typing. It's going to be a long road. My goal is to have her running by 12/1. But realistically it'll probably be closer to February of next year. Just depends on what is thrown my way over the next few months.
I'll get more pictures soon. It's in fantastic shape for an 03. The worst part of the exterior is the spoiler. The clear on the carbon is all gone. The sides are fairly scratched, too. My wife would like the car about 100% more if I took it off. I'm pretty attached to it, though.

Well, here she is!
![]() ZHP exhaust ZHP suspension Shark Injector Cone filter Understeer.com shifter 18x8.5 CSL reps. 3.46 That's it. I have to say... I really enjoy driving her stock-ish. Feels like a luxury car again. It was fun, though. Top end is definitely gone. Had a little bit of a problem with some stumbling. Very intermittent. I think I got a bum throttle body or my fuel pump is on the way out.
