Struts

I was online at bmaparts attempting to price the strut mounts which I found for $33, but I can't find the shock mounts? Are there no shock mounts for the front? Only rear?

Strut mounts are equivalent to rear shock mounts. They have bearings in them that allow the mount to twist and such.

The parts came in from bma. I ordered Bilstein struts and meyle strut mounts; anything else I need? I don't know if I should buy the rubber boots?

I'd get a new rubber boot since it's gonna be off anyway.

Sorry I forgot you were doing struts as well.

Are you getting Bilstein HDs? If so, no bump stop or boot required. Boot is supplied.

I would recommend against Meyle mounts. The bolts are too short so you won't be able to mount a brace.

Bilstein struts have internal bump stops.

$30 at Autozoneee, can't beat that. It's even better than the $50 versions.

I just replaced the struts and I completely hate them! The ride height is waay too high! They are bilstein Touring's...I officially hate Bimmers; waay too much effing plastic.

Your ride height should not have changed. You did something wrong

I read in another thread about this happening with the Bilstein Touring's. I was going to put the same set-up on my 323, but I'm going to go with the Koni's instead.

http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=916794

It's common with the Bilstein's. I'm gonna have to stick with them because with everything I need, my budget doesn't allow for Koni. I don't mind a little bit of a bigger gap so I'll let you know how my car turns out.

They're not bad, It's just that I hate the huge wheel gap. I stayed up all night outside replacing the struts, mounts, end links, front tires, expansion tank and what not. I'm so freaking tired and just having second thoughts about having a Bimmer..it needs too much. Other than that I just found out my lcab's are gone so I just placed an order. I swear this car is nothing but a wallet beheader. To cure the huge wheel gap I'm going to purchase lowering springs. I know it's not the best idea but I don't have 2-3k to spend on a full suspension lowering kit. Bash or flame me if you want.
