You looking at buying it? Seems a bit over priced IMO.

I totally get where you're coming from but I recently bought an exact same specified 2002 m3 with 103,xxxkms on the clock for 30k less. You have to consider how easy it is to wind back the KMs on these vehicles and whether or not that's a true 24,000kms. I'm also of the belief that if you do own a car like this and only drive it occasionally it's more likely to be at the track or spirited driving on the street (owners always BS) as oppose to highway etc.

You can get very good condition 03+ M3's with under 100,000kms for under 45k. Spend a couple of grand replacing all the bushes, bearings & fluids etc. and you'll have a car that drives very similar to the one with 25,000kms on the clock for a fraction of the price.

It's also worth checking the service intervals on low KM cars. If they did it based on KMS it would've only had 2 services. If they did it on time it really should've had at least 6. Could potentially make a big difference depending on how it's been driven.

Hey Dec, that's the whole reason I asked if anyone knew the car before I fly from Perth to have a look at it. My vert had just on 50k's on it when I bought it earlier this year but drives like it's done less than 10. I've had a number of E46's and can pick a good one from a bad one. I wouldn't pay the money he's asking for it and if they're not prepared to negotiate then I wouldn't bother. The reason I am looking for one with VERY low k's is because the vert has now done 75k's and it's my daily drive and I do at least 1000km a week.

In saying all of this I'd rather spend high 50's on a low k M3 than 65 grand on a new clubby or FPV!!!! Having owned both and after 20k's they feel like an old car

An M3 that has "never been launched or been on a racetrack" has an undeserving owner.

Look how many problems you have had though. Your car has been off the road for nearly 3 months and i bet the money you have spent to get it back on the road has pushed it close to the 60k mark....?

50-60k for a working 2002 M3 with 103,000kms+
or
60-65K for a 2006 M3 with 25,000kms.......

Honestly i think its a great buy for around 60k. If you are a genuine E46fanatic then this car is for you.

I also agree. If you have the money and the kms are genuine, I think it is worth it.

I've actually seen this car but not driven it. Look its very clean but IMO low km M3s are hard to judge. Why does it have such low KM (honestly), how hard has it really been driven (hard to tell since components won't show true wear due to low KMs), could be a problematic car later in life with more KMs compared to one with 70,000+ on the clock with regular and preventative maintenance.

For the price he is asking it almost puts you in a 07 E92 M3.

I would rather get one with average KMs and do a few things with the maintenance and keep it at that. At the end of the day is the premium price really worth it?

if you want to keep it for a long time then I think its worth it pending service history etc. Does it have the original oem tyres? if it does the km could be genuine, if not they still might be but shows its been doing spirited driving or tracking (which is not necessarily a bad thing)

I paid a premium for mine 6 months ago and was 04 and 54km and is immaculate (see my posts) so if this car checks out 60k is good imo

Aidan

If you plan on keeping it for a very long time and you got the cash then jump on it - the price is reasonable, sure if you can negotiate for less then do it. It's literally the last E46 M3 of the production line and it has low KMs. Don't let people get into your head saying the KMs might be wind back, something might be wrong blah blah of course this can be true but also people are funny with cars just look at the guy AlvChua bought his Cecil from, it had 1400KMs on the clock and it's 3 years older. If you are really keen, do an inspection.
