VCG silicon

I did the VCG change yesterday and the silicon I used (Pentrax Coper) said 24 hours for silicon to be cured or longer. Anyone know how long doing I need to wait before I can start the engine?

You can put your questions in the same thread. Easier.
I just replied on you other thread about the stud for VCG.

Yah, its recommended not to start the engine for at least 12 hours.
It takes time to cure the RTV to its full potential.

I did a mistake of starting the engine and driving within an hour. Amazingly, the seal did hold for about 4 months and leaked.

I'd recommend to leave it to cure for at least 12 hours if you cant wait for 24.

So 24 is enough or longer?

If the instructions say 24 hours, you should probably wait 24 hours, especially if you are using something not recommended by BMW that doesn't have it's own special set of instructions.
