It's ALIVE again, but now....
Well, after multiple delays (mostly being very busy) my 325i has started living again! I totally re-did the cooling system, ala Mango, and it's all working perfectly on the first try...(A HUGE thanks to Jperry666 for all his help on the reinstalling of all the new parts. Learned a lot about my car in the process. But naturally, it didn't solve everything! When the AC is on, it seems to come out simi-cold (but still not a/c cold) from the far left and right vents and constantly warm from the center vents. (yes, the dials are all the way on cold) Is this an external air temp sensor problem, or maybe the system just needing a recharge? Tips/suggestions always very helpful
Oh..The display on the center console says -40 where the clock used to be as well.... Last edited by KY325iMan; 09-27-2012 at 09:43 PM. |

I would check sensors and make certain all are plugged in - or not being grounded correctly - the AC not blowing coldly is likely due to the compressor clutch not being engaged
the -40 part sounds like a bad ground (broken wire) on the outside air temp sensor

The Ambient temp of -40 on the display indicates you have a problem with the ambient temperature sensor, wiring problem, disconnected or missing.
This can prevent the A/C compressor from running. See page 5 for a great DIY for the fender liner / temp sensor- http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=358114
