Hi Guys,
I'm new here and I am after some advice. I want to fit a GPS/Bluetooth to my 2003 325i. Any suggestions would be great. I'm in Melbourne. Cheers |

If your an audiophile with a huge budget and have to have great awesome sound then check out Alpine gear. If your on a low budget and want an all in 1 DVD, CD, GPS, Bluetooth, Radio, USB, Ipod connect, TV, Reverse camera unit, then do a search on here for Dynavin and read up on the plethora of info about the good and the bad and make up your own mind. I've got an old V4 Dynavin and I'm very happy with it.

Audiophile and Alpine don't really belong in the same sentence these days.

If ur just after Bluetooth & Nav go the Dynavin and depending on whether you use an iPhone or Android you have choices for both. If you want to dramatically improve the sound quality also but keep everything looking "factory" BSW (a forum sponsor) make speaker and sub kits specifically for the E46. I have used them in the past and found them a massive improvement over the factory HK system and they are so easy to install as a DIY. If you're after a system that will blow your mind that's a whole other discussion, lol

Ok I don't know much about sound systems lol, but most of the guys who have bagged out the Dynavin for being crap have all ended up suggesting Alpine gear so that why I suggested it. My bad then.

two options - 1. dynavin (if you want it looking neat) or 2. single din flip out screen with gps etc etc... But it depends how your car came stock... does it have sat nav? or aircon/cd player in the centre dash?

I'm going to give the Dynavin a go when I get my new car. Really keen to try it out. Other wise if you want some good stuff either Alpine or JL audio will do the trick for you. ATM JB had 30% off car sound. So you can get some awesome prices especially if you know someone there.

I thought Dynavin required double din slot?

The Dynavin uses a single DIN just like the factory units do.

+1, the Dynavins are single din at the back, with a full screen at the front which is why it can fit into our cars.

So my heater/aircon controls below my single DIN factory unit would have to be lowered to fit a single DIN Dynavin unit with a double DIN face? Perhaps a single DIN face unit with flip out GPS screen might be an option.

Sorry i meant the face is a double din, while the unit at the rear is single din you still need to make the space to fit it on a non nav factory unit in an e46 so yeah you need to relocate the controls.

correct lowering the heater/aircon controls is a simple process.
