Post DIY Info for Clutch Fan Removal

Here is a little trick to remove the Clutch Fan assembly when having to replace either the Thermostat and/or Water Pump. The nut on the Clutch Fan is 32 mm and it is a very tight fit to get a regular 32 mm wrench in there to loosen it. A Park or Campagnolo 32 mm Head Set Wrench fits in there perfectly, is strong enough to loosen and tighten the Clutch Fan and firmly fits 4 flats of the Clutch Fan nut and is long enough to turn but not too long that it hits everything else. A trick I've used for years and had passed along on the E30 Digest/Forums and since I had to replace my Thermostat on my '03 330xi Sport today, thought I'd mention it here. If memory serves me correctly, only the automatic transmission E46 models have the Clutch Fan plus an electric fan whereas the 325's only have electric fan(s) as part of the shroud. Hope this info will be of use to members here.
