Thanks Steve! You were switching to a different division the last time we spoke. How's that going?

T-shirts and polos aren't that hard, just had to shop around for some brands that fit. For business casual shirts, I have them made. For proper dress shirts (like with a suit), I wear Ralph Lauren custom-fit spread collar.

Just got back from my doctor. I've got some sort of bacterial infection and will be sidelined for at least 3-4 weeks...which means I won't be doing the shows I had planned on (4 and 8 weeks out).

At this point, I'm going to shoot for the same shows next year. My body needs a chance to relax...I haven't had a real break (outside of being in the hospital) in about nine years.

Aww

Also, I should have said VIRAL, not bacterial. Not that serious, just enough to derail the type of progress I'd need to be on stage.

I think I'm going to let myself lose about ten or fifteen pounds (putting me at 183-188), walk around a little lighter/more comfortable, and just take it easy for a bit.

That was the original thought, but it was negative on mono. Turned out to be tonsillitis. Pretty bad case but not bad enough to have the tonsils removed...right on the line.

Thanks man. In retrospect, it was dumb for me to even start getting ready to compete this fall. We're in the process of hiring someone to work under me because my work load is too much. I'm going to try to lay the groundwork over the next three months for next year to be smooth sailing at work, and then I'll consider competing again next year.

Either way, I'm healthy, young (27 next month), and still in the best shape of my life (or close to it), so I shouldn't complain.

My chest is largely uncooperative as well. My legs/glutes/core/back respond very well (..as do my shoulders to some degree), but my chest plays hardball. It's f@cking irritating as sh|t.

I'm convinced that if I stared intently at a squat rack for about an hour, my legs would grow at least an inch. My chest though... most Russian women can probably bench more than me.

Tom, I've got what... four of five years on you? Give it two or three and I'm sure you'll surpass me

Thanks for the kind words though!

Since this is my thread I'll use it as my private soap box...

College kids: stop taking pictures of each other. Nobody cares that you can shrug with 45s in each hand. My mother could shrug more than that.
