Vibration at idle

Hi all,
This is our first post so welcome to all!
Our 1999 318 appears to have a vibration issue. The vehicle has 147k on the clock and drives like a dream. However when started and engage either reverse or drive on the auto trans there is this vibration throughout the vehicle. Place in park it goes away, drive it no problem at any speed.
Very annoying, I've inspected the engine mounts and appear ok , but what do I know, not a mechanic!
Any help would be very welcome!!

How did you check eng. mounts? You checked the trans mounts too? Does engine shake bad if felt while sitting in gear/ idle too low?

I have this same problem, just started a few days ago. I don't notice anything while driving. But if at a light in gear or in park the car shakes.

Ya haha. The engine runs fine but I'm scared it might mean something bad, and I don't want to have it end up being some huge deal that I could have avoided by diagnosing the minor problem.

Did you ever find a fix for your problem. i have been reading on here and mine does the same thing. i have replaced everything.. and it still idles at 610-620 in D or R and 700 in P or N. The only thing I havent replaced was the ICV, I cleaned it and I know it works becz my car idles up when I turn on my A/C.. My car idles fin when the a/c is on in D or R too.. So it has something to do with the low idle.
Im hoping someone has the fix for this..its driving me crazy.

I would also like to know what is causing this. Mine only seems to do it in cold weather on cold starts. Usually when the brake is pressed down with the auto tranny in reverse. Quits when I put it in neutral.

God I hope my tranny not giving out on me. Definitely don't have the money to fix that right now.

I did the trans filter and fluid change and still does it.. I even tripple checked it on 3 different days to make sure the level was right.
So thats not my issue. It acts like the ICV isn't doing its job right or something. I have been searching all over and it seems to be a very common issue with no real fix. My car idles smooth at 650rpm and above.. however as soon as it starts to drop it vibrates more and more. i have just basic software and i can watch everything live.

I replaced it and all the hoses with bmw orginal parts. After more testing today it dont seem to do it when the motor is 1st started and it takes a good 8-10 minutes for it to warm up. I would suspect the ICV would be the problem, and I have already cleaned it when I replaced everything. Does anyone know if when you turn on your a/c how it uses the ICV to idle up? I mean does the ECM send a higher voltage signal? Im just trying cover everything. It seems like this has been discused in seveal forums on several post and no real fix other than replace everything.

I know this is never going to get solved but im still trying.. So tonight i hooked up my software and took 2 videos. One in park, rpm at 700ish and short term fuel goes from 0% to 1.6% to 3.1% roughly back and forth and pretty much stays right there.. My maf is reading 4.2 - 4.9 g/s.. So Neutral does the same thing.. When I put it in Drive or Reverse Rpms drop to 615-630ish and short term drops from 0% down to -3% and back and forth.. It never goes above 0%.. and Maf is still the same 4.2-4.9g/s..

Does anyone have a clue how to read the short term fuel trim.. I was watching my fuel usage and in park/neutral its .392 gal/hr and in Drive/Rev its .412 gal/hr.

Air intake temp was 91 deg F. and coolant was 205-207 deg.
