No there isnt, its worth it completely otherwise there wouldnt be such a large thread of happy people.....

can some please tell me if the sirius app works with the modified version? I really wish i could try it out before i pony up the $35! Is it worth it!? Does this improve the rate you can input in the screen. When ever i have to input anything on the screen its horrible!

for some reason, even though I am connected to wifi and can surf webpages, Play Store says I'm not connected. Youtube also says I am not connected, along with Google Maps... anyone know what's going on?

Check your ip. Better use static ip instead of dhcp. Fixed problem for me for ever with MiFi device.

I challenge you to look at the big picture and turn this into something big. You can take this idea to Kickstarter and I'm sure tons of people will support you with funding.
What you're proposing is putting a $150-$200 android tablet (think Google Nexus 7 or the newly released Nook 7" tablet) into a din slot and integrating it professionally. I'm sure with the proper funding, you can get this done right and make $$$$ for yourself, while keeping the price to under $400 or so (definitely not going to cost $800). It's just a matter of integrating is professionally.

It would be a HUGE win for both you and everyone out there wishing for a better android unit in their car. What do you say!!

I would love to see something like that come to light. Considering I've had my D99 for less than a year, I'm actually very disappointed. The only reason I keep going is because of M3Evo's ROMs. I really only use 2 apps on Android: Mixzing and NavFree, and I almost never use the WinCE side, except when the phone rings or I'm in reverse. I could complain some more, but it comes down to 3 major gripes: 1) The resistive touch screen is a joke, 2) the hardware was 3 years old the moment the D99 came out, 3) There's no support or bug fixes from Dynavin's staff.


Anyway, I actually came on with a question. I'm not sure which ROM I have, at the moment, I can only see that the image file on my SD card is from April 2, 2012, it's probably 1.2. I noticed that my programs and even my launcher, seem to be a bit forgetful about 25% of the time. When I start my car and open up Mixzing Player, I sometimes get welcome and tips screens as if this is my first time running the app, it forgets all of my settings. Same thing happened with poweramp, which I no longer use. NavFree is doing it, as well, I click the icon and it says "installing, please wait." Every once in a while, the launcher even forgets if I want the default launcher or Launcher EX.

I have the same issue. With sygic, with copilot, with the launcher (it does not remember which one i've piced for permanent use), with ADX Ex Launcher (It get stuck when it shall show the launcher) and other apps. It seems that all apps which store some config information sometimes have this issue.
I have this issue with the original ROM and all ROM from M3 till now.

If Dynavin released the source code like they are supposed to under the GPL license someone could host the code on GitHub and it could be a sweet community ROM.

Check your date, it may be year 1970 :p
If you haven't got a gps fix your date might be wrong.

It means you are not getting GPS signal.....the unit gets the time data from the sats so if your unit shows that its 1970 (the default value) then its not getting a signal from the GPS.

You can set the date/time manually then switch back to automatic.
Google play should work then.

But seriously, been trying to figure out what to get for my newly acquired e46 and got really excited when I discovered the dynavin units, and then really deflated when I started reading about all the issues with their actual operation. Been thinking for a while about how cool it would be to integrate a Nexus 7 into a vehicle.

I am currently in China now exploring best possible solutions. I did get a chance to stop by Dynavin's local office here. I might soon have a permanent hardware fix for the Android clock and will have my custom ROM pre-installed and ready for order soon.

Great work! When you say you'll have your custom ROM ready for order soon do you mean newer than 1.50? Will it be available for the community who have already donated?
