Going after my integrity when none of this would of happened if it were an honest merchant. That's like calling me a bully and violent after you spit on me. - I'm not, I'm just enforcing. Quote:
You merchants try to take it as me "screwing you out of money" which I don't understand. If you want to take cards, you will accept debit cards with no minimum purchase per the agreement you signed. Don't hate the player, hate the game. If you don't like the rules, simply go to cash only. Lots of cabbies do this, no food stand is taking a card, there are plenty of places that are cash only. Knowing the rules and asking you to abide by them I don't feel is really an unreasonable request. If you don't like the cost of doing business, either call VISA and b!tch, or don't take cards. I don't care about the merchant agreement, its claiming to have authority from Visa or newspaper, etc. In the United States, common law recognizes nine elements constituting fraud:[8][9] a representation of an existing fact; its materiality; its falsity; the speaker's knowledge of its falsity; the speaker's intent that it shall be acted upon by the plaintiff; the plaintiff's ignorance of its falsity; the plaintiff's reliance on the truth of the representation; the plaintiff's right to rely upon it; and consequent damages suffered by the plaintiff.

He could have told you to fvck off and not sell anything to you if you wanted to use a card on a bottle of water. Instead he allows people who can't even carry a few dollars of cash on them to make a minimum purchase on a card.
Why should he be punished because you can't be bothered to carry cash? Hopefully next time he tells you to G T F O

I never claimed anything other than I work for Visa. It was a statement, not an ultimatum. I reminded them of the rule, that's all. But somehow I'm committing fraud to obtain something?
I'm obtaining nothing more then their fulfillment of a contractual obligation. Your argument holds no water. He should take my card because he has to per his merchant agreement. He could claim cash only or his machine is down, but to single out debit users is a violation of his agreement. I'm not punishing anyone. If he can't afford the cost of business he should rethink his option to take cards. Lol-you guys know I'm right. You might not like it, but you know I am. ![]() The boot got removed as the guy I talked to admitted they have no overnight rate. If you buy a daily rate at 11pm, it expires with the rest of then at 3am. That's predatory. Bottom line is I got a refund as the lot manager agreed that it was messed up. They have since offered a overnight rate in tr machines. Bottom line is, as long as you follow the rules-you have nothing to worry about. This entire thread is you guys trying to justify breaking an agreement merchants sign. If this was a "I got a speeding ticket halp mee!!" you guys would stick with the "obey the rules, nothing to worry about next time", however the attitude shifts when it comes to YOUR breaking the rules as a merchant. Hypocrisy at its finest gents. Last edited by yousharenow; 10-04-2012 at 04:31 PM. |

You have a bad tendency to throw out a tough guy story and then later dilute that story. It compromises your integrity.

Is telling a Non compliant merchant I work for Visa and he should T
Re read his merchant agreement in order for him to follow the rules that big of a deal? Really? My story hasn't been modified at all. Readers inference of what wasn't implied isn't my problem/fault. LOL this place Last edited by yousharenow; 10-04-2012 at 04:40 PM. |

Glad the business is going to lose money on your card swipes simply because you cannot be bothered to carry a few dollars in cash. Way to support small business. I hope the guy refuses to sell to you next time.

difference is that a speeding ticket is from breaking the law.
In this case 2 independent parties had an agreement and you decided to throw that around as an outside 3rd party. Those "rules" are not laws, and hold a much different weight in my personal opinion. |
