My wife has an 01/2001 (manufacture date) 325CI and the cloth is falling off the B-Pillars.
I want to buy replacements but was wondering if I could buy the replacements for the 12/2001-and-later model: http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E46-325...Trim/ES112032/ because the seat belt doesn't rub on the cloth like the 12/2001-and-previous model (currently installed): http://www.ecstuning.com/BMW-E46-325...Trim/ES112053/ They look like they should be interchangable, but didn't want to waste time/money if the newer version doesn't work/fit. Any insight? Thanks |

They should be interchangeable.
The seatbelt isn't what's causing the cloth to fall off though.

True, but the seat belt does rub on the gray trim piece and it leaves a black mark on the cloth over time. At least the newer version with the plastic might be easier to clean off.
Thanks for the input |

The seatbelt definitely exacerbates (dmax loves that word) the cloth coming off. Anyone know how to take this b-pillar cover off? i'm assuming the seatbelt needs to be unbolted from the chassis? my friend's car has pillars that need fixin

You asked for a coupe. For sedan it's simple, you unbolt the seatbelt from the seat rail, take off the plastic floor piece from the rear door, pull on the plastic piece beneath the b pillar it will pop off, pull out the two black plastic clips and pry the b pillar out. Look for yellowmanns DIY on headliner.
