Wow.
The price really skyrocketed in 2000. What happened that year?

Everyone who is comparing euro prices to America please, just stop. Gas is more or less fungible. It goes for what it is worth. The gas itself costs the same in America or Europe (transportation costs aside). The difference in prices is mostly due to taxes implemented by your governments. The federal government gets 18.4 cents per gallon of regular gas in the US (24.4 per gallon of diesel). On top of that, states add their own gas taxes. On average, state and local taxes add 30.5 cents to gasoline and 29.4 cents to diesel, for a total US average fuel tax of 48.9 cents per gallon for gas and 53.8 cents per gallon for diesel.
The taxes in Europe are much higher. http://goeurope.about.com/od/transpo...gas_prices.htm Quote:

Suck it Superstore Gas station
At least I got $4.16 to use for groceries. You guys in USA shouldn't complain. I paid $74 almost for roughly the same amount of fuel and our loonie is much stronger than your useless greenback. Gas in my province is the cheapest compared to anywhere else in Canada because there is no PST tax here. |

I haven't been to a gas pump in 3 weeks, maybe more. It's nice for my wallet.
Not even sure what became of the prices since then.

Does anyone else not really pay attention to minor changes in gas prices? By minor I mean give or take $1.00. I have to fill up regardless of the price because I have to go to work, and go to the store, etc. Complaining about a $0.15 rise in a day or two does absolutely nothing, lol.

Gas prices is $4.89 and climbing for super unlead here in the SF Bay Area.
Anyway, if you can afford to drive a BMW, you can afford a extra $50 or so a month in gas. If it's enough to effect you, then you really shouldn't be in a e46. As for those of you in Canada or Europe who say we here in the US get "CHEAP GAS", we really don't when you think about it. You guys all get UNIVERSAL HEALTHCARE and pay chump change for it every month. We don't have universal health care in the United States. Try buying it on your own or try buying it with a current health problem and it will be enough for you to think $10 gas is cheap as long as you have universal health care. |
