The ripples all over the body and sleeves... would look better if you can smooth them out
Maybe no starch? Or just a few more washes to break in the shirt a little more?

It's still very stiff. Needs to be washed a few more times. Also, I'm going to separate my shirts and only starch the dress ones.

This being my first experience with a topy, it seems like they did an excellent job. It was a hair over $30. Super nice guy to deal with, too.....this is the one in Ladue.

I'll take a picture this weekend because I was pretty impressed with the quality of work. I was expecting to be able to see the black rubber piece from a side profile on the sole, but they use some cobbler trickery to make it look as if no modification had been done.

anyways, i emailed AE just to check, but getting a Topy wouldn't stop the shoes from being recrafted, right? I am going to be pissed if they say so since they aren't resoling anything.

i am having an issue and i think i'm going to have to see a podiatrist.... the left ball of my foot (my clutch foot) always ends up getting a small hole worn through much quicker than the rest of the shoe. my right foot, completely fine. i have no idea if i am walking weird or whatever, but its just weird that this happens to every friggin pair of dress shoes that i have.

anyways... my strands have a tiny hole in them so i'm going to see if they can just toss a topy over it, hopefully they still can. i'm not recrafting these things after 8 months of ownership

Topy will not prevent redrafting.

Do you have metal pedals in your car?

Don't have to fully recraft - you can simply resole. Great thing about this is you can have any sole applied. You could get a Vibram 100 or 430 for a FrankenStrand.

i just want a topy, i like leather soles so i wouldn't want something like the vibrams... i want it to be cheap, and temporary, i'm sure the topy's will buy another year or so on the soles before i am ready to recraft them. Once that goes by, then i'll have them recrafted since they stretch it over the lasts again and they come back pretty much like new.

If you have a straight up hole in the sole of the shoe, a Topy isn't going to fix it, and perhaps might not even be possible. Your shoe needs to be resoled. Also, a Topy is about 1mm thick. It's not going to last a year if leather didn't make it a year.

I picked up my jackets from the tailor. He did a great job, as always.
