Haha! I'm just trying reach a satisfactory weight and get to where many of you guys are. I've been a vagina for years......scared of the dead lift, so I avoided it like the plague (..but I attacked the squat ferociously). Now that I've placed focus on it, I absolutely love the movement and get riddled with anxiety until I can dead lift again. Now I have to wait until next Monday. I feel like I'm progressing pretty well, but I think a lot of that is attributed to my squat.

I've tried the overhand grip and the alternating grip, but I've decided to stick with overhand - despite prefering the feel of OH/UH - to protect from potential bicep tears once the weight gets heavy. As of right now my grip is still strong at 300 lbs., so I won't pull out the straps............yet!

I literally don't know anyone who doesn't standard deadlifts double overhand. I've done over/under since the beginning. Only times I use double over is stiff legs and rack deads.

For a reasonably athletic person, I don't think bicep tears are going to be an issue unless you intend on getting into the 500+ club.

It's more easy to kill with a sword than with a gun.

A sword is more frightening than toy-looking gun like glock.

robbing with a sword is a good thing

If I didn't to the over under grip I'd drop that sh1t so fast. I was worried it would be weird but it is pretty natural. I use my dominate hand (right) with a normal over hand grip and use my left for underhand.

The funny thing is I feel that my grip is the strongest in the double-overhand grip. I hated it at first, but I've grown to like it. My hip thrust is better in the double-overhand position as well.

I am still wrecked from those dead lifts 2 days ago. I f@#king love it! I was able to rep my squats during this morning's workout per the plan (..and I used moderate weight today: 275 lbs.), but damn does my body feel like somebody ran me over with a steamroller.

Sooooo do I...

...dead lifts killed my cleans today though. I was spent. I'm going to video my 315 lb. dead lift. That will be a PR for me.

The way I like it. I took a chance.....got 300 lbs. for 3 reps. Looks like I may be able to finally clear 315 lbs. once.

I did a couple sets at 135 lbs. to warm up, two sets of 10 @ 225 lbs., a set of 4 @ 280, four sets of 5 @ 290 and a set of 3 @ 300. Definitely feeling stronger!

Damn man! Can I at least get 315 lbs. first before you come blow our socks off with a 425-banger? LOL! You moved that weight pretty easily bro. Is there a benefit to the slightly wider stance? I think you're slightly wider than I am. I think that I need to record myself for forum critique.
