Harmon Kardon Subs or Amp?

The subs in my car started distorting for awhile and then stopped working not too long after i got my car. I open the sub box and the speakers seem physically fine. Do i just need to replace the amp? how can i be sure of this?

I would check and see if you are getting a signal into the subs first. If no signal then your amp is toast.

If your other door speakers are working, I doubt it is the amp.

The OEM sub is really subpar. I would replace it with an aftermarket one + mono amp.

just wanted to clarify my fix for those who are searching around. The issue was a loose induction coil on the circuit board in the amp. I found a DIY and i re-soldered the coil and glued it down. Never had an issue since. The DIY is easy to find.
